Learn to love the PROCESS

Erik Ferguson

Recently I read a fitness blog that shook me up a little.  Some of it I agreed with, but some of it I thought I could add my own spin to.  Here is the original blog followed by my version.

Want to know my SECRET? How I lost 65lbs and maintained that loss for 2.5 years?

It's not about how many pounds you lose, how many inches you drop, the gains you make. It really is about this one mind set and ONLY this one:

"Develop passion for the process of improvement. Fall in love with the day in and day out torture you inflict on yourself. This creates positive habits. These habits breed success. Your trophy is having the opportunity to get better each day, to self improve. To relish the moments when the mind says quit but you tell it to SHUT THE F*** UP! The physique in the mirror is not the trophy. It's merely a bi product of your grueling efforts. Become addicted to the PROCESS of improvement and the end state will be a foregone conclusion..." - Joseph C. Donnelly's Fitness Page

Here’s my version;

Want to know my SECRET?  How I became healthy and happy, and discovered what a miracle my body is?

It’s not about the pounds you lose, how many inches you drop, the gains you make.  It really is about this one mind set and ONLY this one:

“Develop passion for the process of gaining vitality.  Fall in love with the day in and day out self care practices that you lavish upon yourself, to support your health and well-being.  This creates positive habits.  These habits breed success.  Your trophy is having the opportunity to get to know yourself and discover what your body loves to eat and do.  To relish the moments when the mind says quit, but you tell it I LOVE YOU AND I’M ON YOUR SIDE!  The woman in the mirror smiles back at you with encouragement.  She is the sum of the healthy food and lifestyle practices that you have implemented.

Become addicted to the PROCESS of gaining vitality, and your on-going state of being will become one of health and happiness…”
